For the Love of Being on the Water

I knew I would always be around the water from an early age on the Barnegat Bay. I remember my first Carolina Skiff used for fishing, crabbing and commuting to see friends along the Bay and Toms River. Eventually, all my time was spent racing Lasers and E-Scows locally and even a few international locations.

Experience Matters

Upon realizing that a maritime career was my goal, I enrolled in the Chapman School of Seamanship. This was a great experience and gave me building blocks of knowledge in navigation, maintenance, and boat handling. I soon achieved my USCG 100 Ton Masters License and was off and running. I captained modest-size yachts from the Great Lakes to The Bahamas and Newport. I made a Pacific crossing and a dozen trips from Newport to the Caribbean. During this time I would also work for an Offshore Sailing School. I managed and taught the advanced racing program in Florida, spent winters in the BVI teaching bareboating, and finally, coached a coastal cruising program in Newport.

Yacht Racing and Rigging

In 1997, I was fortunate to apprentice as a rigger for the prestigious “Aramid Rigging” in Newport, RI. For the next 24 years I bridged my sailing skills and rigging systems knowledge with project management and sales. This company eventually became a part of the Southern Spars/ North Sails Group. During much of this time, I raced professionally around the world. Five Newport-Bermuda Races, including a First to Finish. I competed in a dozen world championships in Farr 40s, Swan 45s, and back in the Laser. I cherished the travel experiences and the good friends made as much as the competitive events.

Bridging Sales Expertise and Service

Drawing on my experience and love of sales, I am well-suited to help clients locate and purchase their dream vessel. My methodology begins with drilling down to the client's needs and yachting plans. Only then can you start looking at boats and eventually purchasing. I provide counsel on the negotiations and the process of purchasing. I can also advise on financing, insurance, and documentation. I am a Florida licensed and bonded Yacht Salesman.

Beneteau Top Gun

As a nod to my sales success, I was awarded the 2022 Beneteau Top Gun Award for sales in the sailboat division. Beneteau is an outstanding global company, and it was an honor to be recognized by them.

Beyond Professional Sales and Sails

I was fortunate to teach my children sailing and seamanship for a decade onboard our J-42 while cruising New England. I will be forever proud that they have kept sailing as part of their lives. These days I spend a lot of time on a bike. I regularly compete in road and gravel endurance events. I have even embarked on a few multi-day bike packing journeys.
